Build Green Buildings
Jul 8, 2009 Building and renovating your offices and other facilities to green standards not only benefits the environment, but also may be increasingly required by state and local ordinances. Make sure that when your organization is doing so, it receives competent assistance in meeting those standards.
The U.S. Green Building Council administers the LEED® Green Building Rating System™, which is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings, and is designed to meet the highest green building and performance measures. Nationally there are fewer than 100 attorneys who are LEED® Accredited Professionals. These professionals are available to advise and assist clients on the LEED® certification process. Six of these attorneys work for Holland & Knight LLP.
For more information about green building requirements and LEED® certified attorneys, contact Amy Edwards of Holland & Knight LLP, who is the co-chair of the firm's national Environmental Team. She can be reached at (202) 457-5917, or Amy.Edwards@hklaw.com.
