Frequently Asked Questions

Here you’ll find answers to frequently asked questions about ACC listserves. If you don’t see the answer to your question, please call the ACC legal resources department at +1.202.293.4103, x456 between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM EST Monday – Friday or email legalresources@acc.com.

What is the purpose of the committee listserves?

Committee listserves provide an online networking tool for ACC members. They enable members to post information that is of interest to other committee members, highlight regulatory developments and provide professional and substantive support.

How do I subscribe or unsubscribe to a committee’s listserve?

To subscribe to a committee’s listserve, you first need to join the committee associated with that listserve. You may join as many committees as you like.

How do I opt to receive every message sent or receive the digest version?

After you’ve logged in, choose “My Listserves” in the left sidebar then click on "Edit my listserve info" in the center of the page. Beside the relevant committee name, select either “Subscribe Single” to receive every email as it is sent or “Subscribe Digest” to receive a daily summary of the listserve postings.

How do I post a message anonymously?

You can email your query to legalresources@acc.com, noting the listserve to which the information should be posted. We will forward any responses to you.

How do I post a message?

Use the email address that you received when you signed up for the listserve, or log in to your committee listserve at http://discuss.acc.com/read/all_forums and send your message from the Internet.

How do I reply to an email sent through a listserve?

To minimize the number of emails listserve members receive, we have set up the listserve so that if you click “Reply”, your message will go to the sender of the first message only.  If you click “Reply All,” your message will be sent to the entire listserve. We encourage you to send your message to the entire listserve whenever it is appropriate (e.g., when you are replying to a question or providing substantive information). Please note, only messages sent to the entire listserve will be archived for future reference.

How do I access the archives for my listserve(s)?

Log in at http://discuss.acc.com/read/all_forums/.

What type of information should I post to my listserve(s)?

Listserves are effective communication tool for a group of people with common interests. Here are some examples of appropriate posts:

  • New and impending cases
  • Legislative or regulatory developments
  • Substantive questions for which you want opinions
  • Management, career development and other professional questions
  • Requests for recommendations for outside counsel
  • Requests for sample forms

For more detailed information on how to appropriately use the listserves, please see our Listserv Rules and Protocols.
