Pro Bono

Extending in-house expertise to communities in need

The strengths and talents of the in-house community are in high demand. Pro bono practice opportunities provide benefits to everyone: enriching communities, personal satisfaction of each lawyer who engages, internal corporate culture, and legal department morale.

Corporate Pro Bono (CPBO)

Corporate Pro Bono was created as a national partnership between the ACC and the Pro Bono Institute to assist in-house counsel who want to establish or improve their legal departments’ pro bono efforts. Our groundbreaking work has literally changed the face of in-house pro bono programs, creating a pro bono culture in the in-house bar that’s never been seen before.

How to get started:

  • Connect to top resources that help you start or sustain a pro bono program in your law department.

  • Benchmark your efforts or ideas against established programs at work in law departments around the globe.

  • Find pro bono events, trainings, and activities that you can attend.

  • Contact CPBO dedicated and experienced staff or learn about CPBO's leadership, co-chaired by ACC's 2008 Chairman, Laura Stein, CLO of Clorox and Brad Smith, CLO of Microsoft.

  • And take the CPBO Pro Bono Challenge - add your name today or read about the many law departments who've already signed on.

Recognition/Awards:
