The WMACCA Career Development Forum focuses on providing attorneys with information to assist them in effectively finding new positions and managing their careers.  The Career Development Forum counts as its members both active and passive job seekers as well as those who are interested in general career topics.  Non-members in WMACCA are welcome to participate in the Forum’s programs and networking events; the hope is that those non-members who secure in-house positions will recognize the value of membership and join at a later date.

Recent Program Highlights:

INTERVIEWING -- In August 2009, Will McKinnon and Ben Lieber of Axiom walked us through some "best practices" when interviewing for that next great job:

• Prepare -- Don't forget the basics. Research the people you will talk to and the organization;
• Rehearse -- What are the questions you are likely to face?  Rehearse the content you will want to convey.  It's a good idea to actually practice in a mock interview.
• Be Yourself -- Build rapport with the interviewer. Listen to the questions - and answer them.  Ask intelligent questions.  Demonstrate you have thought about the position - why it's a good fit, etc.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT -- In May 2009, the Career Development Forum presented a program on Financial Management Strategies During Troubled Times.  Our speaker, Ernesto V.
