Overview

This 3 hour program is entirely devoted to Ethics issues for In-House Counsel.

"The Ethical Practice of Crisis Communications”

Presenter: Gene Grabowski, Senior Vice President, Chair, Crisis and Litigation Practice, Levick Strategic Communications, Washington D.C.

Gene Grabowski, one of the nation’s foremost authorities
on crisis communications and litigation public relations,
will lead a two-and-a-half hour interactive program that
teaches the appropriate use of crisis communications
strategies and tactics throughout the litigation process. 
As head of the Crisis and Litigation Practice at
Washington, DC-based Levick Strategic Communications,
Mr. Grabowski has successfully employed innovative and
ethical crisis communications strategies on behalf of a
number of clients, including Akzo Nobel, GE Healthcare, 
Bayer, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Six Flags theme parks
and major pet food and toy manufacturers.  Mr. Grabowski
will draw on his experience and illustrative case studies to
instruct participants on the art of employing crisis
communications techniques that are coordinated with
your legal strategy and that help win cases while staying
well within established ethical boundaries. Topics to be
covered include: 
  • Using digital and social media to level the litigation playing field
  • Creating meaningful public messages that work
  • Defusing a hostile media environment
  • Using apologies effectively
  • Countering blog attacks
  • Recruiting and deploying third-party spokespeople
  • Preparing for and conducting successful news media interviews.
