October 13, 2017 Culmination - UCI Law School
ACC Southern California Members – Street Law 2017!
Please volunteer to help teach “ Street Law”
September 13, 2017 Kick Off at UCI!
University of California, Irvine’s School of Law and ACC Southern California have teamed up again to present the acclaimed Street Law Program to students at Middle College High School in Santa Ana.
This is our 7th year of planning and teaching “Street Law” courses to students at the Middle College High School on diverse topics such as copyrights, social host liability, alternative dispute resolution and contracts.
OC Street Law will give you the opportunity to work with UCI law students and fellow in-house attorneys to teach practical legal information and critical life skills to high school students.
2 -3 hours prior planning with UCI students and 90 minutes teaching.
You will help teach a course during a 90 minute block on either October 9, 10 or 11 at Middle College High School.
You will be able to choose the time and topic that your team of UCI students will cover on you teaching day. Draft lesson plans will be provided and you will supervise UCI law students as they work as a team to finalize the presentation.
Also, in addition to (or instead of) teaching on the 9th, 10th or 11th, you may volunteer to help teach during a 90 minute block to students attending a Culmination Event at UCI School of Law on October 13th.
You do not need to be an expert in any of these topics – lesson plans will have already been prepared and you will work with and supervise UCI law students to further tailor them for the particular classes.
