ACCA-SoCal is committed to creating and maintaining a culture that supports and promotes diversity, based upon the following values:

ACCA-SoCal's 2008 Diversity Award Honoree is the Southern California Edison Company.  The Southern California Edison Company has made a concerted effort to reflect, in its workforce and in its corporate culture, the diversity of the customers it serves throughout Southern California. The SCE Law Department's interenal demographics reflect the diversity of the communities it serves.

The SCE Law Department is also focused on increasing majority owned firm use minorities assigned to handle SCE matters.  SCE Law Department leadership urges SCE's retained majority owned firms to make a special effort in the recruitment, retention and promotion of minority attorneys as well as to bring to SCE managing attorney attention and consider for assignment those minority employees or partners of their firms with appropriate experience for a particular SCE matter.

Public Counsel is the largest pro bono public interest law firm in the world.  Founded in 1970, Public Counsel is dedicated to advancing equal justice under law by delivering free legal and social services to the most vulnerable members of our community, including abused and abandoned children, homeless families and veterans, senior cititzens, victims of consumer fraud and non-profit organizations serving low-income communities.
