ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION OF CORPORATE COUNSEL

The Association of Corporate Counsel (“ACC”) is the In-house Bar Association, serving the professional needs of attorneys who practice in the legal departments of corporations and other private sector organizations worldwide. ACC promotes the common interests of its members, contributes to their continuing education, seeks to improve understanding of the role of in-house attorneys, and encourages advancements in standards of corporate legal practice.

Since its founding in 1982, ACC has grown to more approximately 25,000 members in more than 73 countries who represent over 9,471organizations, with 47 Chapters and 14 Committees serving the membership. Its members represent all of the Fortune 100 companies. Internationally, its members represent 42 of the Global 50 and 74 of the Global 100 companies.

ABOUT THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA CHAPTER

The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter ("SFBA") of the ACC is one of the oldest and largest ACC Chapters in the world. The Chapter has close to 1,700 members representing all of the leading companies throughout the Bay Area and is currently the second largest Chapter in the ACC family (closely behind the Washington D.C. chapter). The SFBA Chapter has always had and continues to have great leadership that truly cares about the Chapter members and the value we provide to our sponsors. The SFBA Chapter provides its members with timely and relevant educational programs, networking opportunities and dynamic professional activities, all designed to meet the particular needs of in-house counsel in the Bay Area.

ABOUT THE SFBA SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

The support of our sponsors is very much needed and appreciated, not only to enable the Chapter to conduct its legal education programs and other activities, but also to help increase our membership during the coming year. Our Chapter is proud to have as members almost 1,700 Bay Area in-house counsel serving their corporate clients in all substantive practice areas.

The Sponsorship Program offers three distinct sponsorship opportunities for law firms: Chapter Sponsorship, Committee Sponsorship and a new Day at the Ballpark Sponsorship. Each of these alternatives is designed to provide our sponsoring firms with increased access to Chapter members. There is a strict limit of eleven (11) law firms as Chapter Sponsors, up to eight (8) law firms as Committee Sponsors, and one law firm as the new Day at the Ballpark Sponsor.

There are numerous advantages to the SFBA Sponsorship Program; each designed to enhance the value we deliver to both our sponsors and our members:

1. Ten (10) monthly CLE events presented by Chapter Sponsors;

2. Chapter Sponsors will present their CLE event at the designated Chapter venues (San Francisco and Palo Alto), and may elect to add a third designated venue in either the South Bay or East Bay;

3. Committee Sponsors will host up to four (4) Committee meetings and are required to present CLE programs at two of the meetings (the other two meeting(s), which are at the discretion of the Committee chair(s), while hosted by the Committee Sponsor, will not necessarily involve presentations by the Committee Sponsor (or any other law firm);

4. All Chapter Sponsors (but not Committee or Ballpark Sponsors) will be invited to participate in the annual CLE Spring Training event (or similar event) designed to appeal to as many Chapter members as possible. The event will include an exposition at which Chapter Sponsors will be permitted to set up booths to publicize their firms’ expertise, as well as an after-event cocktail hour;

5. All Chapter Sponsors (but not Committee or Ballpark Sponsors) will be permitted to set up booths to publicize their firms’ expertise at the annual Mini-MBA Day event;

6. Hyperlinks on the Chapter web site to the sponsors’ own sites;

7. Uploading of and links on the Chapter web site to CLE and Committee materials provided by the sponsors at their CLE events; [1]

8. Sponsorship in any category costs $25,000, payable with submission of the Sponsorship Selection Form (see below). This fee includes a $5,000 deposit for hotel, food, beverage, A/V and related costs of the CLE programs or Committee meetings at the designated venues, as the case may be;[2]

9. The Day at the Ballpark event is new and we are very excited about offering it to our members. The event will be held at Giants Stadium (AT&T Park) on an evening during the summer. The sponsoring law firm will present a CLE class prior to the game (in a conference room on the Suite Level in the stadium) and then host all attendees in a private suite (luxury box) where they will enjoy the ballgame together with food and beverages. We believe that this new event will be a great success and hope that it is just the first of many such events over the coming years;

10. All sponsors may be able to participate in other events, social gatherings, and meetings throughout the year to provide opportunities to interact with our members.

Please note that the number of sponsorships is limited and that they are awarded on a priority basis. Current sponsors will be offered first priority. Each year there is an oversubscription for sponsorships and thus it is imperative that prospective sponsors act quickly upon receiving a solicitation from the SFBA Chapter.

[1] By signing up to be a Chapter, Committee or Day at the Ballpark Sponsor, each firm agrees to allow the distribution of any program materials, written or electronic, to ACC members via mail, email, or the ACC Chapter or National web sites.

[2] Please note that any expenses in excess of $5,000 are the responsibility of the sponsor and no portion of the $5,000 is refundable.
