THE 2012 SFBA SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
The support of our sponsors is very much needed and appreciated, not only to enable the Chapter to conduct its legal education programs and other activities, but also to help increase our membership during the coming year. Our Chapter is proud to have as members over 2000 Bay Area in-house counsel serving their corporate clients in all substantive practice areas.
The 2012 Sponsorship Program offers three distinct sponsorship opportunities for law firms: Chapter Sponsorship, Committee Sponsorship and the Day at the Ballpark Sponsorship. Each of these alternatives is designed to provide our sponsoring firms with increased access to Chapter members. There will be a strict limit of 12 law firms as Chapter Sponsors, up to nine law firms as Committee Sponsors, and one law firm as the Day at the Ballpark Sponsor.
There are numerous advantages to the 2012 Sponsorship Program; each designed to enhance the value we deliver to both our sponsors and our members:
1. Chapter Sponsors will present a CLE event in their chosen month at two designated Chapter venues (San Francisco and Palo Alto), and may elect to add a third designated venue in either the South Bay or East Bay;
2. Committee Sponsors will host up to four (4) Committee meetings and are required to present CLE programs at two of the meetings (the other two meeting(s), which are at the discretion of the Committee chair(s), while hosted by the Committee Sponsor, may but will not necessarily involve presentations by the Committee Sponsor;
3. All Chapter Sponsors and the Ballpark Sponsor (but not Committee Sponsors) will be invited to participate in a full-day CLE program, of the Chapter’s choosing, during the year. The event will include an exposition at which the Sponsors will be permitted to set up booths to publicize their firms’ expertise, as well as an after-event cocktail hour. Chapter Sponsors will also have the option of presenting at this event;
4. All Chapter Sponsors and the Ballpark Sponsor (but not Committee Sponsors) will be permitted to set up booths to publicize their firms’ expertise and attend the after-event cocktail hour at the annual Advanced Contracting seminar or similar event;
5. Hyperlinks on the Chapter web site to the sponsors’ own sites;
6. Uploading of and links on the Chapter web site to CLE and Committee materials provided by the sponsors at their CLE events;
7. Chapter and Committee sponsorship will cost $25,000, payable with submission of the Sponsorship Selection Form (see below). All costs related to the sponsored CLE programs or Committee meetings, including but not limited to room, food, beverage, and/or A/V charges, are the responsibility of the Sponsor and are not included in the sponsorship cost. (This change from our prior programs, in which sponsors were credited with $5,000 toward venue charges, was necessitated by the rising costs of running our Chapter);
8. The Fifth Annual Day at the Ballpark sponsorship is estimated to cost $35,000 (including venue charges). We are very excited about offering this event to our members once again -- a chance to see the 2010 World Champions in action! The event will be held at Giants Stadium (AT&T Park) on an evening during the summer. The sponsoring law firm will present a CLE class prior to the game and then host all attendees in the new Legends Club private luxury suite where they will enjoy the ballgame together with food and beverages. Prior years’ Day at the Ballpark events have been sold out, and we expect that next year’s event will, once again, be a great success;
9. For all sponsors, we will publicize any two (2) events being sponsored by your firm during our 2012 Sponsorship Program – in addition to your ACC events – in our email announcements sent to our 2,000+ members; and
10. All sponsors may be able to participate in other events, social gatherings, and meetings throughout the year to provide opportunities to interact with our members.
[1] By signing up to be a Chapter, Committee or Ballpark Sponsor, each firm agrees to allow the distribution of any program materials, written or electronic, to ACC members via mail, email, or the ACC Chapter or National web sites.
