Delivering Value Through Innovation: Tools, Techniques and Technologies for Improving the Deal Process and Other Legal Services
This program will explore how innovation can assist in-house counsel to deliver greater value to their internal clients and procure better value from their outside lawyers.
Using over a dozen recently released tools, techniques and technologies developed by and for deal lawyers, we will examine how counsel can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the deal process through better planning, management, and communication. Each of the tools, techniques and technologies which will be evaluated are practical and easy to use, and will be included in the course materials. We will also explore how the principals underlying these innovative tools, techniques and technologies can be applied to improve the legal service delivery model in other areas of the law.

Topics to be addressed:

  • Grading the Current Legal Service Delivery Model.
  • Case Study: Innovative Deal Process Improvements Published by an ABA Task Force - Improving the deal process using practical, readily available, and easy to use tools, techniques and technologies designed by and for deal lawyers.
  • Adopting Process Improvements in other Areas of the Law.
