CONGRATULATIONS!

From the foundation laid by our founding members in 1992, you have built the San Diego Chapter of ACC to be the preeminent bar association serving San Diego’s corporate counsel.   Many of those who have been involved since the Chapter’s inception continue to comment on our growing membership (600+) and the success of our programs.  I am honored to have been elected your President for 2009, and my goal for this year is to continue to support and advance the Chapter as a viable and thriving professional association of in-house attorneys. 

In order to continue our tradition of success, I solicit your input and involvement.  I believe the strength of any association is premised on the level of participation by its members.  With that in mind, I encourage each of you to peruse this website, pick a Committee which interests you, attend a Committee meeting, and seize the opportunity to structure the programs and services we offer at either the local or national level.  You may access the list of Committees and their Chairs’ contact information on the Chapter Committees Page.Past surveys indicate that our members highly value the Chapter’s continuing legal education programs and networking opportunities. 

To that end, 2009 promises at least two monthly CLE presentations, along with additional opportunities to interact with both fellow in-house counsel and private practitioners in a variety of settings.  I encourage you to mark your calendar for the following:

January 23       Sixth Annual General Counsel Roundtable and All-Day MCLE

March 21         Black & White Ball

April                Night at the Padres and MCLE (date TBD)

June 14            Family Fun Day

July 25             Day at the Races

August             Mini-MBA for the JD (date TBD)

October           Fall Wine Social (date TBD)

December 10     Annual Meeting;
