San Diego Chapter

In order to create a unique sense of community within the Chapter, ACC San Diego has created several social clubs which meet several times throughout the year. At this time, ACC San Diego has the following social clubs.

Beer Club

The ACC San Diego Beer Club is “mixing” things up for its next event!  Please join your fellow ACC San Diego members at Malahat Spirits Co. (, a small-batch distillery, just north of Miramar Road.  This will be an informal event for members to get together, sample some delicious rum, bourbon and vodka, take a tour of the distillery, and simply enjoy each other’s company.

This will be a private event for ACC-SD, so we will have the entire distillery to ourselves!

Feel free to bring a colleague, friend, spouse, etc. to join in the fun.  However, please note that attendance is capped for this event at 40 people, so make sure to register early!

When:  May 4th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Where:  Malahat Spirits Co., 8706 Production Ave., San Diego

Cost:  $20/person.  Malahat will have tastings, as well as a bartender making mixed drinks with their small-batch creations, available the entire event.  If drinking hard alcohol at a beer club event is too mind blowing for you, Malahat will also have beer (and wine) available.  Please note that Beer Club is pre-paying for all attendees at the request of Malahat, so please do not register unless you plan on attending.

RSVP or Questions: Please RSVP to Mike Wagner via email ( or phone (760.889.3213).

The Gonzales Canyon Open Space was preserved in the 1980s and is part of the City of San Diego’s Multiple Species Conservation Program, which includes approximately 900 square miles from the Mexican border to the San Dieguito River Valley and from the National Forest to the Pacific Ocean.

ACC Night at the Movies

Second January ACC Night at the Movies

Because it is pre-awards season, there are many very good films showing, so we are having an additional January movie night.  Please join us for the second January ACC movie night.  Tom Vazakas is coordinator.  To keep things simple, Tom proposes a movie, based largely on reviewer ratings, and a date.  Feel free to suggest a different film or date than the one below.  Movies typically will be on a Friday or Saturday evening, start time between 7:00 and 8:00.  Theater location will be decided closer to the event, after Tom receives responses.

The film for the second January movie night is "Phantom Thread," a film very highly regarded by the critics.  The date is Saturday, January 20.

Please contact Tom as soon as you can, but by Tuesday, January 16, at  Tom's telephone number is (858) 228-7193.
