Chapter Committees - Volunteer Opportunities

Looking to get involved? South/Central Texas ACC has a number of Committees that provide you with the opportunity to contribute to the Chapter and meet other members. Below is a list of our chapter committee opportunities.  If you are interested in joining a committee or have a suggestion about the creation of a new committee, please contact Amber Clark, Executive Director.

Communications/Public Relations Committee

Description:

Seek opportunities to promote the Chapter and its activities in the local legal community. Assist with newsletter and website content and development, Facebook, Twitter and taking photos at events.

Chair: Position Open

Community Outreach Committee

Description:

Work on finding a good charitable project “fit” for the chapter and on the planning, organization and promotion of the activity(s).  Current annual programs include “Ask a Lawyer” pro bono event and St. Mary’s Law panel presentation on working in-house.

Chair: Sakina Hassonjee, USAA

Ethics Follies Planning Committee

Description:

We have many volunteer opportunities in connection with our now famous Ethics Follies program.  In addition to inviting you to act, sing, dance or play a musical instrument with our large cast, we also are always in need of volunteers to help with the production and administrative side of Ethics Follies.  No matter what your talent- theatrical or otherwise- we can put you to work!  A few examples of ways you can help are: program promo, ticket and sponsorship sales, press release help, registration and ushering, costuming, props and set assistance, theater intermission and reception planning and set-up and event photography.

Chair: Lee Cusenbary, Mission Pharmacal

Membership Committee

Description:

Improve communication and relationships with new and prospective members. Focus on reaching out to non-members and see if we can get them to become members.  Contact new members (phone call, lunch, etc.) to welcome them and fill them in on all that ACC has to offer.

Chair: Kelli Cubeta, BSG Clearing

roundtable Committee

Description:

Help to organize one or more of the quarterly roundtable events we plan to have throughout the year.

Chair : Serina Rivela, University Health System

Committee Members:  Linda Wright (Zachry) , Ingrid Etienne (NuStar), Curt Moy (USAA)

Social Events Committee

Description:

Coordinate social events. Survey Chapter membership to determine interest levels, priorities and preferences for regular Chapter coordinated social events. As part of this survey, gauge interest in creating networking opportunities involving more than just in-house local attorneys (identifying other groups and their potential interest in a joint social event).  Out of this effort, develop an annual program of social events (some sponsored, some funded (if possible) to create networking opportunities and enhance the social fabric of the Chapter.  Potential events might include one or more of the following: wine tasting, pub nights, a new members event, attending sporting or cultural events, conducting an annual chapter golf outing/tournament, holiday party, etc.  Consider ways of adjusting the structure of the monthly program lunches to enable more networking.

Chair: Kay Grimes, Lone Star Bakery
