President's Letter - spring 2017
Summer has ended…and as usual, the ACC-NYC Chapter enters a very active and exciting autumn. If you attended our Compliance Institute and Annual Meeting on September 13th at the Paley Center, you saw three fantastic panels as well as a presentation from Joe Muoio, Assistant Chief, New York Office of the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division. You also got to socialize with the presenters and fellow Chapter members at a post-event reception at that NY classic, the 21 Club. During the annual meeting, I was honored to be elected your Chapter President for a second year, along with Ashley Miller, VP of Sponsorship and President Elect; Tia Gilford, Secretary; Jeffrey Schultz, VP of Programming; Charles Chen, VP of Membership; Daniel Rosenberg, VP of Practice Groups; and Suzanne Cruse, Treasurer. The Chapter said goodbye to our very capable former Secretary, Steven Seltzer, who has left the in-house world to start work at a law firm. The board will miss Steve and his very effective time keeping skills! We welcome to the Chapter four new directors, also voted in by our members at the annual meeting: Rachael N. Clark, Anna Erenburg, Kevin Fumai, and Jonathan Jung. For a complete list of board members, please visit our leadership page.
Please be sure to attend our last core programing event of the year Cybersecurity Summit - Our Davos for Data Protection on November 15th, at FIT. And check our calendar and your emails for additional CLE and social events coming up in the months ahead. Also, the Chapter has a great new initiative allowing you to share your membership -- up through December 31, 2017, you can invite your non-member in-house counsel friends to attend our events as your guest at no cost to them. Further details are available on the chapter website at www.acc.com/chapters/nyc/invite-a-friend.cfm, or contact our Assistant Executive Director, Rosalyn “Roz” Essex-Cope at 718-869-0681. I hope you will take advantage of this program - our Chapter offers some amazing benefits and this is a fantastic way to show non-members what we are all about.
As always, please contact me or other board members with feedback, questions, or concerns, and I hope to see you at an upcoming Chapter event, and at the ACC’s Annual Meeting in DC.
President, ACC New York City Chapter
