Legal Review with an IP Lens

Presented by Bob Gurwin, Chief Counsel, AOL, Inc. and Dana Cizmadia, Compliance Specialist, Brand Protection and Marketing, Office of the General Counsel, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
Working with product teams and negotiating commercial agreements can be challenging due to the myriad of legal and regulatory issues in play.  Remembering to also look at things through an IP lens will ensure that you protect or unlock what can be your company's most valuable assets.  In this session we will explore various issues that arise in the in-house realm that you may not realize are IP issues, or have an IP component.  For example, when the marketing department comes up with a tag line, what steps are needed to clear it prior to use, or to ensure that it can't be used by competitors?
