BACK TO SCHOOL
As the summer draws to a close, ACC NCR is ready to resume its terrific CLE offerings. Click here to view the Corporate Counselor newsletter, providing details on all the programs taking place in September.
Of particular note: The 2017 Data Privacy and Security Conference will be held on Wednesday, September 13. This full-day conference, featuring leading privacy and cybersecurity practitioners and thought-leaders, will provide practical advice and pointers for in-house counsel at all levels of experience.
Coming in October: For those who have an ethics CLE requirement, we will have a two-hour program on Wednesday, October 11, addressing ethical considerations when handling employment matters. Details to come.

A Roundtable Discussion on Sept. 22
Want to make a difference by doing pro bono work, but have some hesitation or questions about the logistics (such as the time commitment, or your level of knowledge, or malpractice insurance)? Join us for the Corporate Counsel Pro Bono Roundtable on Friday, Sept. 22, from noon to 1:30 p.m., co-hosted by Washington Council of Lawyers and ACC NCR. Moderated by Pat McGlone, DC Bar President and General Counsel of Ullico Inc., the panel will discuss how in-house counsel can make an impact, overcome perceived impediments and forge partnerships to make significant pro bono contributions in our community. Whether you are interested in becoming more involved as an individual in-house lawyer, or are thinking about how your legal department can develop its pro bono program, the panel will offer you valuable insights and perspectives. Panelists include: Susan Hackett,CEO, Legal Executive Leadership, LLC; Luise Welby, Senior Associate General Counsel, Freddie Mac; and Kathi Westcott, Senior Director, Legal Affairs and Senior Counsel, The Pew Charitable Trusts.
