Chapter Mission Statement

ACC National Capital Region is committed to enhancing the personal and professional lives of its members by helping them to become smarter, save time and money, and advance their careers through education, fellowship, and public service.


Purpose and Objectives

ACC National Capital Region is organized and operated to assist corporate legal counsel located in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area (including portions of Maryland and Virginia) who are engaged in the active practice of law inside of organizations in the private sector and do not hold themselves out to the public for the practice of law in their professional endeavors through (i) the identification, discussion, clarification, and sharing of information on legal and related business matters pertinent to their organizational employers and (ii) with their personal professional development.

To fulfill these purposes, ACC National Capital Region will have the following objectives for its activities:

1.Providing a forum for discussion of the concerns of corporate legal counsel in its service area and establishing and fostering an environment for sharing experiences, approaches and methods of providing service to their organizations among the members of ACC National Capital Region.

2.Providing research, educational programs, publications, and the exchange of information with respect to legal matters of general interest to corporate legal counsel.

3.Gathering and transmitting information affecting corporate legal counsel to members of ACC National Capital Region and to other concerned corporate legal counsel.

4.Fostering and promoting education and advanced knowledge about the in-house practice of law as it relates to matters involving or affecting corporations or other private-sector organizations, and advocating on laws, regulations and/or issues concerning in-house practice and practitioners.

5.Undertaking such other and further means as may be necessary and proper to accomplish the aforesaid purposes.
