Overview

In a global survey undertaken by the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) recently, the biggest concern for chief legal officers (CLOs) in 2018 is the regulatory climate. 74 percent of respondents rated regulatory changes as the key issue keeping them awake at night. This shift may reflect changes in the global regulatory climate and globalization of business, coupled with concern over compliance with new regulations governing data and information privacy. 

The ACC invites inhouse lawyers to hear from regional experts on complying with global and local regulatory changes as well as how to mitigate the risk of data and system breaches and ensure that information privacy requirements are met. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion, where Abdullah Mutawi, partner at Baker Botts and Graham Griffiths, senior analyst at Control Risks accompanied by inhouse counsel, will discuss the changing shape of  Abdullah Mutawi, partner at Baker Botts and Graham Griffiths, senior analyst at Control Risks accompanied by inhouse counsel,the Kingdom.

Jim Merklinger of the ACC will showcase some of the tools developed by the ACC and how these can be used in to improve inhouse management.
