From time to time, ACC Houston Chapter has money in excess of operating expenses that may need to be directed to longer term investments. This committee will evaluate the current needs of the Chapter and then identify possible short or long term investments. It will also determine an appropriate level for maintaining the flow of money between the checking and money market account. Investment recommendations by this committee will then be presented to the Board of Directors for appropriate approval pursuant to the Delegation of Authority Guidelines.
Golf/Spa (John Allen - Chair, Don Butler - golf, Peggy Montgomery – spa)
ACC Houston’s primary fundraising event is our Golf/Spa event, which raises approximately $100,000 after expenses. There are 30 teams with 4 or 5 golfers per team and approximately 60 spa participants. The golf and spa portion of the day is preceded by a two-hour presentation that provides ethics credit and is followed by a reception . The event will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Hotel ZaZa and Hermann Park Golf Course. The event is completely free to ACC members. Volunteers are needed to assist with most aspects of the event.
Chapter Meetings (Russ Miller)
ACC Houston’s chapter Meetings are generaly held the second Tuesday of the month at Maggiano’s Restaurant. Each meeting usually begins with a networking period and announcements followed by lunch and a one hour presentation. The presentation is either delivered from a law firm who is one of our platinum sponsors or another entity, and covers a topic of interest to our membership.
