All European Briefings content is written by in-house attorneys who practice in Europe. Author teams of both outside counsel and in-house counsel are also acceptable. Articles that are self-promotional will not be accepted. Manuscripts must be the original work of the author(s) and not previously published or simultaneously submitted to another publication.
Article Style and Topics
To write your 1,500-2,000 word briefing, imagine your audience is your Board of Directors. Because stockholders, vendors, and employees have heard about EU labour law, whistleblowing, nondisclosure agreements and intellectual property, and your Board is now asking all kinds of questions. As the company’s in-house counsel, you have been asked to address the Board on the matter. Your briefing will begin by properly introducing the topic that has caused the Board to be concerned. Our suggestion would be to address the national implications associated with this issue, and describe your company’s and industry’s vulnerability as it relates to the changes that are coming. Your briefing would then conclude by recommending actions to take in order to avoid difficulty, and to maximize your ability to succeed given the changing circumstances.
