This panel will focus on avoiding the kinds of problems that can arise at the outset of transactions, including issues like:
The demands on your time, your business objectives, to whom you report, your short term and long term business goals, and much of your day to day responsibilities are vastly different when you practice law as an in-house lawyer. We will discuss some of the most significant differences between practicing law at a law firm versus practicing in–house, and how to manage those differences successfully to make your legal department a true asset to your organization. Our panel will consist of in-house counsel with experience across industries, including financial services, technology, senior care, life sciences and gaming. Each of whom formerly practiced at law firms and successfully transitioned to in house, and ultimately general counsel roles.
This program will address ways that in-house counsel can effectively respond when faced with a wide range of pressing issues, including employment/HR matters, high exposure litigation, threatened claims, governmental activity, and whistleblowers.
