ACC Chicago Events and Activities

CLE Programs

ACC Chicago continuously develops and offers numerous top quality CLE programs throughout the year that are tailored to the needs of in-house counsel. These programs are offered at no cost to our members, and are preceded or followed by a networking hour and complimentary lunch or dinner at an upscale venue. ACC Chicago is an accredited IL CLE provider. Therefore, members are able to easily satisfy their IL CLE requirements while at the same time enjoying stimulating programs, fine dining and professional networking, all free of charge. This is a tremendous value, particularly considering the nominal cost of joining ACC as well as the comparatively very high cost of obtaining similar benefits from other organizations.

StreetLaw

StreetLaw is a non-profit organization founded in 1972. Its mission includes educating high school students about the law and careers in the law. In addition to providing financial support to this worth cause, participating ACC Chicago members serve as instructors at class room sessions and half day seminars with students from the Chicago Public School System and School District U-46. Without exception, students and members have found this program to be extremely enjoyable and rewarding.

Minority Law Student In-House Counsel Summer Scholarships

Our Chapter grants numerous scholarships to minority law students to support their working as Summer Associates in corporate legal departments. For information on our 2009 Minority Law Student In-House Counsel Summer Internship Program, please visit our Minority Law Student Summer Internship Link.

Social Events

ACC Chicago hosts numerous complimentary social and networking events for our members throughout the year. These events draw large attendance, and are not only highly enjoyed by our members, but also provide invaluable professional networking opportunities.

Annual Gala Dinner Celebration

Each year our Chapter hosts an extravagant Gala dinner event for in-house counsel. It typically draws about 700 attendees, and features a nationally prominent keynote speaker. It also includes the granting of an award by the Chapter of its Thurgood Marshall Career Achievement Award to a deserving recipient. Former keynote speakers include the Honorable Madeleine Albright, Ben Stein, Bill Bradley, and James Carville with Mary Matalin.  This event is one of the most spectacular events of the year, and often, members are invited to attend free of charge.

Pro Bono

ACC Chicago supports efforts by, and provides resources to, its members for a variety of pro bono efforts.

If you are a member and would like to get more involved, or if you are a non-member in-house counsel who is interested in membership or learning more about the benefits of membership, please contact our Chapter Administrator for more information.
