Austin Chapter

Pro Bono / Community Service

At the Austin Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, our mission is to offer our time, talent and experience to provide assistance to those people and organizations without access to the legal profession. We will partner with each other, our private practice colleagues and members of the pro bono community to be effective advocates to those who need our help.

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRO BONO CHAIR

I am excited to be the new ACC board member for pro bono affairs. Many members of our chapter are actively engaged in a variety of pro bono activites, and it is the board's goal to make information about pro bono opportunities available to all members who seek them.

If you are interested in doing pro bono work, please contact me at the email address below, and we will look for opportunities that are of interest to you. Please note that many organizations  have need of legal assistance with varying degrees of time required, so there are opportunities that can work to fit your availability. There are also needs for legal assistance across practice areas.

Please also let me know if you are aware of additional organizations we can add to the following list of community organizations with pro bono needs:

  • A Glimmer of Hope
  • Arc of the Capital Area
  • Caritas of Austin
  • Disability Rights Texas
  • Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts
  • Texas Access to Justice
  • Texas C-BAR
  • Texas Civil Rights Project
  • Texas Fair Defense Project
  • Third Court of Appeals Pro Bono
  • Volunteer Legal Service

Best Regards,

Chris Koa
