Washington, D.C.  “We are excited about the opportunity to create a new platform for in-house counsel to share best practices in these industries – all while developing much needed industry specific resources,” stated Norman Wain, chair of the Sports & Entertainment Committee and general counsel, chief of business affairs for USA Track & Field. “Our goal is to meet member needs through our eGroups, legal updates and local events with ACC chapters.  We also want to utilize the great networking and technology tools that ACC already provides to all its 29,000 members,” explained Wain, also a member of ACC's Board of Directors.

In addition to Mr. Wain, the committee’s leadershipincludes: Emily Roisman, Vice President & Corporate Counsel for Feld Entertainment, Inc. (Vice-Chair); Kathleen Rodin, Assistant General Counsel for Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club, LLC (Secretary); Courtney Lewis, Legal Counsel for Phoenix Coyotes(Membership Chair – Sports); Kristin McQueen, Senior Vice President for Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (Membership Chair – Entertainment); and David Cohen, Director of Legal Affairs and Risk Management for Angels Baseball LP (Program Chair).

Formed in the Fall 2011, the Sports & Entertainment Committee has quickly grown, to nearly 400 members to date.  Members have presented CLE programs at ACC’s 2011 Annual Meeting, teamed up with the ACC’s Southern California Chapter on a joint local program and is building sports and entertainment-related resources for ACC members. Scheduled programs for 2012, which are in the form of brief topic-based presentations called “Legal Quick Hits,” include:
