In-house Counsel Expands Global Membership to Argentina

The Association of Corporate Counsel Announces its First Latin American Chapter;   Clorox International Senior Counsel Named Chapter President

Posted: Nov 15, 2010

NOVEMBER 15, 2010 (Washington, D.C.) — The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) has expanded its reach with the founding of the Argentina Chapter, the first Latin American chapter for the association. The Argentina Chapter will offer substantive information and programs to members located within the country and will serve the needs of in-house attorneys who represent global corporations in Buenos Aires and other provinces within the country.

Esteban Mazzucco, International Senior Corporate Counsel of The Clorox International Company, who assumed his position of President for the Argentina Chapter at ACC’s Annual Meeting in October in San Antonio, Texas, says, “ACC is a great organization that will enable us to provide resources and programs crafted specifically to in-house counsel practicing in Latin America. While we share many of the same concerns as our peers in the U.S., Canada, Europe and other countries across the globe, working at a multinational corporation based in Latin America presents unique legal challenges. We know ACC will continue its tradition of helping in-house counsel do their jobs more effectively in this global environment.”

“The Argentina Chapter constitutes a significant step by ACC to serve the Latin American and multinational in-house legal community,” says ACC President Frederick J. Krebs. “We commend Esteban and the entire Chapter board. Their experience, knowledge and contacts will enable ACC to continue its leadership role in addressing important legal issues impacting in-house counsel.” Krebs adds, “The Chapter continues the expansion of our global network with ACC members now active in more than 75 countries.”

Mazzucco is joined by fellow board members from international companies such as Bridgestone Argentina S.A.C.I., DIRECTV Argentina S.A., General Electric International, Inc., Hewlett-Packard Argentina, Monsanto Argentina S.A.I.C, Nextel Communications Argentina S.R.L., St. Jude Medical and Telefonica Moviles de Argentina.
